Isivuno Training

Our Training Strategy

To ensure more preschool teachers are reached, we also train Trainers! To maximize our impact to the community's children we train as many teachers as possible. The most effective approach in accomplishing this is by training Trainers. These trainers undergo specific Facilitator Training with an in-depth overview of the material to equip them in training Preschool Teachers. Through our ongoing support we ensure our standard of excellence is maintained in every area.

The Trainer training program offers:

Pre-training - either attending a Preschool Teacher training (in person or online), doing reading, discussions on Internet, Skype or Moodle.
Attend full 3-day face-to-face Trainer training.
Opportunity to practice what they have learned. As part of their training the new Trainers present sections of the 5-day Preschool Teacher training. Trainees implement what they have learned with the Isivuno Training Director or Train-the-Trainer present to observe, supervise and support them.
This is followed by a Reflection Meeting and suggestions on how to proceed.
Trainers receive:

All teacher material: ABC for teachers; 2 Lesson plans books and Isivuno story file
Trainer material: Trainer guide, Trainer manual, Trainer admin outline, examples of some of the wall charts and a DVD/booklet with more resources
Continued support after the training

Training Centers

We currently have training centers in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Kirkwood, George, Mossel Bay, Soshanguwe and Tshwane, South Africa. Our international training centers are in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania and will soon also be in Botswana!

Setting up a new Training Center

Does your area need an Isivuno Training Center? We partner with local churches or organizations who align with our work to establish a center to train more teachers in their region. Certified Isivuno teachers can help their communities on a greater level by establishing a Training Center.

MULTIPLICATION IS ESSENTIAL
